Our Trip to Thatcher

Dad called me Monday morning and asked if I wanted to go with him and John to see Brittany and baby Mayley. How could I say no to that!? So we all loaded up and drove to Thatcher. Devin and Ashton came along for the ride.
She is so small and cute! She stayed asleep the entire time that she was there!
Don't I look good holding a girl. I think that I better do alot of practicing if I ever get lucky enough to have one of my own!

The newest granddaughter!

Mayley Miner was born December 1, 2007 at 3:51pm.
She weighed 7lbs. 2 ounces and is 19 inches long.
She has beautiful curly blond hair.
For more pictures see the Miner's Blog.

The Richardson Calf

Let the branding begin! There were three calves to brand, so our family took one and Brittany and Bridget's family each took one as well. Ben threw down the calf first. While the boys got his back. :)
Here we are all getting into position, but before we knew it, the calf got up and was ready to run!
So I threw down the calf the second time.
As I was throwing the calf down, somehow I ended up underneath the calf! We were all laughing so hard. After all the boys got back on the calf, I was able to go free.

Now we are officially ready and good to go.
Devin was helping me hold the legs.
Calvin was doing his part by sitting on the calf's neck.
Ben was the official brander. The boys loved the work and especially the dirt!

The Miner Calf

Wes cornered the calf and threw it on the ground in no time.
Dayton did such a good job holding the body down.
Thank goodness for Larissa for helping Briley hold the legs.
Colton did his part by holding the ear. You never know when that ear could escape!
Brittany was the official brander.
Wes rode the calf after it got up. Doesn't it look like he landed right on his bottom from this picture? Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that he landed on his feet.

The Miller Calf

Sam and James roped the biggest of the three calves for the Miller Family to brand.
Bridget and Jared are making sure that the calf will stay put.
Here Bridget is branding the calf.
Grandpa and Bridger hold down the head as the branding is being done.
Tillison gets on the calf for the traditional "ride after the brand" part. He had a good little ride.

The Wagon Ride

The day after Thanksgiving, we all got together and went to the back to brand the three calves. But we had a special ride to take us out to the back. Grandpa hooked up the old truck to the wagon. We all hopped in and had a great time waiting for the ride to start.
The neat thing about the ride was that Caleb and Carson drove the truck all by themselves! No one was in the truck with them. They loved every part of it and felt so grown up!
Here are a few pictures of everyone waiting for the ride to start. This is Devin and Bridger. For every picture they would say "cheese" and smile at everyone.
This is before the ride started when Carson was "visiting" us in the back. Carson, Calvin and Briley had alot of fun.
Dayton, Ashton and Tillison posed for many pictures. They are all good friends and have fun goofing off.
Here's another one of Calvin and Briley.
Here's the gang that rode in the trailer.
See what I mean about them goofing off. They're alot of fun to watch.

Thanksgiving Day

I just bought a new camera and Thanksgiving Day was the first day I was able to use it. So on Thursday and Friday, I took over 200 pictures! People probably thought that I was crazy, but who can deny the truth? ;)
This is Calvin at Aunt Barb's house after we ate lunch. There is always so much to do there!
This is Chislom. He is just like Bridget...photogenic!
Jared refused to get his picture taken. I told him that I was going to take his picture no matter what, so he better at least look at me.
Now this is a typical Colton picture. Doesn't he look like he enjoys his food?

Happy Halloween

While Brittany and Colton were visiting this past weekend, my boys had a Halloween Carnival at their school. So they all dressed up and had a fun time at all the different booths and eating pizza and nachos. We had 3 batmans, Captain America, a knight (that fights dragons) and a pirate. They had a lot of fun!

My Clean Couch

I had just cleaned my couches and the kids know that they can't eat anything on my couches now. Well, Briley and Dayton were at school and I was doing stuff on the computer and after a while noticed that I haven't heard from Colton in a while. When I went in search of him I found him on my couch asleep with chocolate all over him and my couch. So much for clean couches.

Jared's Grave

How in the world did Jared get in this hole! Or where did the hole come from? We may never know! The hole was covered up by lots of weeds and Jared didn't know what hit him, or should I say what he fell in! Watch the video below to see him push it out. He is lucky that he didn't die or get any broken bones.
Doesn't it really look like it was dug for a grave? Scary!!! Just for your information, Jared crawled back in the hole to pose for the picture. I hope it's not to distrubing, we're Reeds, what do you expect?

Jared's Grave - The Movie

This is how Jared rides his new 3-wheeler. He has been lifting weights this past year and has gotten really strong. You can see how he can push that 3-wheeler right out of the hole. Make sure to turn off the music below at the end of the page before watching. James likes watching it to hear his truck.

Frye Mesa

James came up to visit Wes and Brittany in Thatcher and we took him to Frye Mesa. This is where the snow melts from Mount Graham and flows into this big box canyon. Wes and James climed up this big cliff and found a bueatiful waterfall. It was very cold water.
This is Wes cliff jumping. Looks pretty scary to me.
This is James jumping off the cliff. In this picture you can tell how high the cliff was that they jumped off.
Here is Dayton, Briley, and Colton watching Daddy and James jumping off the cliff. We had a great time with Uncle James
