Our Trip to Thatcher
Dad called me Monday morning and asked if I wanted to go with him and John to see Brittany and baby Mayley. How could I say no to that!? So we all loaded up and drove to Thatcher. Devin and Ashton came along for the ride.
She is so small and cute! She stayed asleep the entire time that she was there!
Don't I look good holding a girl. I think that I better do alot of practicing if I ever get lucky enough to have one of my own!

The Richardson Calf
Let the branding begin! There were three calves to brand, so our family took one and Brittany and Bridget's family each took one as well. Ben threw down the calf first. While the boys got his back. :)
Here we are all getting into position, but before we knew it, the calf got up and was ready to run!
So I threw down the calf the second time.
As I was throwing the calf down, somehow I ended up underneath the calf! We were all laughing so hard. After all the boys got back on the calf, I was able to go free.
Now we are officially ready and good to go.
Devin was helping me hold the legs.
Calvin was doing his part by sitting on the calf's neck.
Ben was the official brander. The boys loved the work and especially the dirt!

The Miner Calf
Wes cornered the calf and threw it on the ground in no time.
Dayton did such a good job holding the body down.
Thank goodness for Larissa for helping Briley hold the legs.
Colton did his part by holding the ear. You never know when that ear could escape!
Brittany was the official brander.
Wes rode the calf after it got up. Doesn't it look like he landed right on his bottom from this picture? Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that he landed on his feet.

The Miller Calf
Sam and James roped the biggest of the three calves for the Miller Family to brand.
Bridget and Jared are making sure that the calf will stay put.
Here Bridget is branding the calf.
Grandpa and Bridger hold down the head as the branding is being done.
Tillison gets on the calf for the traditional "ride after the brand" part. He had a good little ride.

The Wagon Ride
The day after Thanksgiving, we all got together and went to the back to brand the three calves. But we had a special ride to take us out to the back. Grandpa hooked up the old truck to the wagon. We all hopped in and had a great time waiting for the ride to start.
The neat thing about the ride was that Caleb and Carson drove the truck all by themselves! No one was in the truck with them. They loved every part of it and felt so grown up!
Here are a few pictures of everyone waiting for the ride to start. This is Devin and Bridger. For every picture they would say "cheese" and smile at everyone.
This is before the ride started when Carson was "visiting" us in the back. Carson, Calvin and Briley had alot of fun.
Dayton, Ashton and Tillison posed for many pictures. They are all good friends and have fun goofing off.
Here's another one of Calvin and Briley.
Here's the gang that rode in the trailer.
See what I mean about them goofing off. They're alot of fun to watch.
